The conference entitled Collaborative Economy – The Path to an Acceptable Model will cover the different approaches and practices that already exist in EU countries, in order to help Slovenia set up the most suitable model of collaborative economy. The Slovenian government is in the process of setting up a comprehensive legal model to regulate and give impetus to the different forms of the collaborative economy. Furthermore, the European Commission is monitoring the rapidly changing regulatory environment and is interested in identifying possible obstacles and problems arising from divergent national regulations or regulatory gaps.

The Vice President of the European Commission responsible for the Digital Single Market Andrus Ansip, Minister of Public Administration Boris Koprivnikar and Minister of Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Počivalšek will give keynote speeches at the conference opening.

The conference itself will be divided into three panels, each addressing a particular aspect of the collaborative economy. The first panel will introduce the collaborative economy, what it is and what kind of business models it offers. The second panel will present the challenges and opportunities from the perspective of representatives of companies that are already seizing the opportunities of the collaborative economy. The third panel will illustrate how authorities of different Member States have reacted to this new models and how they have been regulating the collaborative economy to ensure its coexistence with traditional providers. In this panel the response from the Slovenian Governemnt on how it intends to regulate this fast developping part of the economy is expected.
